Restarting the Advantage Application

Follow the steps below to restart the Advantage software if it is frozen or partially crashed. You do not need to restart your computer or disconnect from the cloud in most cases.


Option 1: Task Manager from Taskbar

1. Open Task Manager.

    1. Right click on the black Taskbar in your Advantage Cloud session.
    2. Click on Task Manager.

    2. Use Task Manager to End Task the Ortho application.

Note: It can take up to 10 seconds before the Ortho (32 bit) application shows on the list.

    1. Click on Ortho (32 bit)
    2. Click End Task
    3. Close Task Manager by clicking the X.

    3. You have now closed Advantage and are ready to reopen it the as you do when you first login. Note: You need to wait at least 1 minute after Ending Task for Ortho before you open Advantage back up, or you will get this error.

Option 2: Task Manager via Shortcut Keys

1. Open Task Manager by using a key combination.

    1. On your keyboard press Ctrl + Alt + End at the same time.
    2. Click on Task Manager to open the Task Manager.

2. Use Task Manager to End Task the Ortho application.

Note: It can take up to 10 seconds before the Ortho (32 bit) application shows on the list.

    1. Click on Ortho (32 bit)
    2. Click End Task
    3. Close Task Manager by clicking the X.
